MEET CARMEN

NEW LEADERSHIP FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Carmen Salomé has a MS degree in Management from Roberts Wesleyan College and over 15 years experience working in various aspects of local government in Lee County, Florida and Rochester, New York. For the past 10 years, Carmen has worked alongside two Lee County Commissioners.

She has been actively involved in our community and a leader in several community initiatives. She developed and expanded a Hispanic Professionals email network that continually informs community leaders of important local government issues, opportunities and events, engaging a large segment of the community that may not otherwise be reached.

Carmen has a thorough understanding of the inner workings of local government and is well-known and respected by many of our elected officials and community leaders.  Carmen was instrumental for beginning the GED ministry at her church in 2007, where she was the team leader until December 2014.

Carmen has volunteered on various citizen committees for the City of Cape Coral, including Community Development Block Grant Committee, Minority Affairs Committee, Budget Review Committee, and Citizen Police Review Board. She is on the board of directors of the Freedom and Virtue Institute and has served on the board of directors of the Southwest Florida Tiger Bay Club. In 2015, Carmen was a citizen member of The News-Press editorial board.

She and her husband J.D. moved from Rochester, New York to Cape Coral, Florida in June 2004.
